Start, Scale, Succeed North East Chambers Event, a real success!

It’s all about shoe leather, when starting out!  A key piece of advice from Alex Mount Charles for business start-ups as he opened the Start, Scale and Succeed event held in Slane last week stating, “You need to knock on doors and then go back and knock some more”. Navan Chamber of Commerce together with Drogheda, Kells and Dundalk Chamber held the event as part of the Start Up Gathering week which was set up with the aim to encourage more people to take the first step on the road to creating a business, or assist others in scaling their business. Responsible for the creation of the Slane Castle Whiskey brand, Alex Mount Charles was the perfect candidate to open this event as the audience were captivated throughout, listening carefully to the advice and tips Alex Mount Charles had to share such as “when starting up your business, be prepared to go through a lot of shoe leather and to always aim high”. Following his superb key note address, a panel of four entrepreneurs from the North East took the stage to divulge the details of setting up their own businesses, from the highs, the lows and everything else in between! Anne Reilly - Paycheck Plus, Oliver Florence- Flo Web, Graham Hughes - Outsource Group and William Smyth - Fitzgerald Properties gave the audience a great insight on starting up your own business, with Lorraine Murphy of Lorraine Murphy Training & Coaching as facilitator throughout.
