Navan Chamber President’s Welcome Speech 2016

It is an honour to be elected President of Navan Chamber of Commerce.
I hope to continue the good work of Donna and earlier Presidents.

We have a number or projects for the coming year: –

• Support the newly established Meath Association of Chambers – gives one voice with greater impact, dealing with County Council and National bodies, single point of contact for business considering establishing a presence in Meath, greater mass for organising events, conferences etc., the smaller individual Chambers struggle to get numbers to events, the larger events should attract better known speakers etc. Navan to be at the centre of the Association.
• Bring the Purple Flag award forward, promote awareness of it, firstly in Navan/Meath, and then to the potential tourists, this is an on-going project with renewal to be passed next year.
• Address issues with the building, façade, caused by blocked gutters causing paint to peel away; plan to have gutters cleared and building repainted, approx. €4,000, underway.
• Broaden membership base and Committee members
